VSB Group, the specialist for renewable energies in Europe backed by Partners Group, is expanding its footprint in Poland: VSB acquires 300-MW of projects in a milestone transaction for the Polish wind onshore market and for the corporate group.

Decarbonising the economy is an ambitious climate protection goal. Renewable energies are the key. VSB Group wants to help companies to switch to green technologies and operate sustainably. That is why the wind energy and photovoltaics project developer and provider of integrated energy concepts is now a partner in the pioneering initiative “Klimaschutz-Unternehmen”.

Dismantling and recycling now carried out according to a standardised process: VSB Group contributes vast experience in project development and the dismantling of wind turbines to the work of the RDRWind e.V. association. DIN SPEC 4866 provides operators, demolition and recycling companies, municipalities and authorities with recommendations for an orderly dismantling process as well as for safety, monitoring and documentation.

7 Nordex N163/5.X wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 5.7 MW, are expected to be in operation on the west coast of Finland by summer 2022. This will be the first project to be commissioned in Finland for VSB as developer and operator.

The Swiss Partners Group is the majority owner of VSB Group, a leading European developer, owner and operator in the renewable energy sector. After the official announcement of the takeover in January 2020, the banking supervisory and antitrust authorities have approved the transaction. VSB expects strong growth ahead.

VSB, the international project developer, takes a significant step towards growth and gets a new majority shareholder. Partners Group acquires an 80% equity stake in VSB Group.
