Further strong tailwind for the expansion of renewable energies in Poland: VSB Holding GmbH takes over 100% of the rights to a combined wind energy and photovoltaic project in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The hybrid park offers potential for around 170 MW of installed capacity. The project is planned to be ready for construction by the end of 2023.

“The combination of wind energy and photovoltaic park will get the maximum yield out of the area. With regard to the 10H distance rule in Poland, we are confident that the upcoming positive changes will give us additional impetus to make this project a success,” says Hubert Kowalski, Managing Director of VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska sp. z o.o.

VSB has acquired the rights to the pre-developed project on an area of around 120 hectares. Together with an external partner, the wind and photovoltaic park will be prepared for construction in the coming months. It offers potential for up to ten wind turbines of the 7 MW class and a solar park of up to 100 MWp.

VSB in Poland
VSB established a Polish presence in Wrocław in 2008, and has already commissioned around 76 MW and serviced over 600 MW nationally. This includes the Taczalin wind farm, which supplies the Mercedes-Benz plant in Jawor (Lower Silesian Voivodeship) with 100% green electricity. The power purchase agreement (PPA) for this was concluded in the summer of 2018. The Baranów-Rychtal wind farm with a capacity of 42.6 megawatts is currently under construction. Commissioning is planned for 2023.
