Brandenburg: Bursting with energy
Wind energy keeps picking up steam: With an installed capacity of 6,000 MW, Brandenburg is among the top three regions when it comes to wind energy. For the future, Brandenburg is determined to stay a forerunner of the German energy transition, planning to meet a disproportionally high share of the national energy targets. With our branch office in Potsdam, we are a part of this endeavour. For we believe that it is local action and regional value added that form the basis for the successful implementation of the Energiewende.
Saxony-Anhalt: This is where the wind blows
Saxony-Anhalt is one of Germany’s leading regions with regards to the installation of renewable energies. With a 54 % share of the gross electricity consumption, Saxony-Anhalt already reached the 2030 national target in the year 2015. A strong focus on repowering together with a state-of-the-art wind power technology will be the cornerstones of future success in renewable energy installation. By now, turbines with an installed capacity of 5,000 MW have been commissioned, with another 1,000 to be built by 2020. To achieve this target mark, the government wants 0.8 % of the Bundesland’s total area to be made available for wind energy. VSB is in it!
Mecklenburg-West Pomerania: front-runner in wind energy
As a costal Bundesland, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania shows excellent wind conditions. Wind energy contributes to 40 % of the gross electricity consumption, which puts the region on the top of the German ranking. Mecklenburg-West Pomerania will not rest on its laurels, but is determined remain an energy region: By 2020, an installed capacity of over 4,100 MW is aspired. VSB has accepted the challenge and, together with regional players, will help making a big step towards the energy of tomorrow.

We shape the German energy transition
In the last 20 years, we have commissioned 157 wind turbines and PV-plants with an installed capacity 226 MW. We want to continue this success story in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania – hand in hand with land owners, residents, municipal officials and local associations.
