Direct Power for EV Charging Parks
Whether you operate a logistics business or a charging park, a direct connection to a nearby wind or solar farm can allow you to use electricity from renewable sources directly for your charging infrastructure. VSB develops a supply concept tailored to the site, electricity demand and technical requirements.
We connect your charging site to a nearby wind or solar farm via a dedicated direct line. The electricity generated there is supplied directly to your site without using the public grid for this connection. Supply is based on an individually structured direct electricity supply agreement, or Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This allows electricity from renewable sources to be integrated into the long-term energy supply of your charging infrastructure.
Direct from the generation site to your charging park
A direct line from a nearby wind or solar farm can supply electricity from renewable sources directly to your charging park, without using the public grid for these volumes. The dedicated connection is typically installed underground. This can reduce the share of electricity drawn from the public grid.
This model can be particularly suitable for logistics centres, commercial sites or charging hubs with a corresponding level of electricity demand. Depending on the contractual structure, electricity costs may be easier to plan over the longer term without the need to invest in your own generation asset. The commercial benefits depend on the site, consumption profile and contractual model.
Your benefits at a glance
Direct connection to the generation asset: Electricity from wind or solar is supplied to your site via a direct line from a nearby generation asset, without using the public grid for these volumes.
Traceable origin: The electricity generated from wind or solar can be traced directly to the respective generation asset. Where relevant, Guarantees of Origin can also be used.
Supplementary electricity supply: If generation from the connected asset does not meet current demand, additional electricity can be supplied under a supplementary electricity supply agreement.
Greater long-term cost visibility: Depending on the site and contractual model, direct supply from wind or solar can offer commercial benefits compared with other procurement options.
Long-term terms: A PPA can define prices or pricing mechanisms for an agreed period. This can provide greater long-term visibility over part of your electricity procurement and help limit exposure to short-term market price movements.

Our Services:
1. Site Analysis and Assessment
VSB operates a broad portfolio of wind and solar assets across Europe.
We assess the proximity of suitable generation assets to your sites and the technical feasibility of a direct line.
Based on your electricity demand and charging infrastructure requirements, we develop a technical site concept, including an economic assessment.
Together, we define the next steps based on the technical and commercial evaluation.
2. Planning and Implementation of the Direct Connection
Depending on the project and contractual model, VSB may contribute to the investment costs of the direct line.
We provide agreed services across project planning and delivery, from initial concept through to commissioning, including:
Project development
Coordination with relevant stakeholders, such as landowners, municipalities and grid operators
Coordination of the contractors and trades involved
Technical commissioning and, where required, subsequent maintenance services
3. Conclusion of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
The aim is to establish a long-term electricity supply from a nearby wind or solar asset on contractually agreed terms.
We support you with contract structuring and the agreed energy market processes.
At your request, we can also provide support with applications relating to the German GHG quota (THG-Quote) for publicly accessible charging infrastructure.
