VSB énergies nouvelles, an independent producer of electricity from renewable sources and the French arm of the VSB Group, announces the start of construction of three wind farms. Located in Brittany, Occitanie, and the Loire Valley, these farms have a combined capacity of around 34.8 MW.

The wind farm in Dingé, Departement Ile et Vilaine, comprises four Nordex turbines with a total capacity of 12 MW. It is expected to go into operation in the summer of 2024. This wind farm complements the existing farms in Guehenno, Silfiac and Tremeheuc, which together supply 27.2 MW in Brittany.

The Arzenc wind farm, in the Lozère department, is the second project. It will go into operation in December 2024 with 6 Enercon turbines and a capacity of 13.8 MW. It complements the three wind farms already operated by VSB Energies nouvelles in the Occitanie region, Lestrades-et-Thouels, Montfrech and Tuchan, which together generate 23.4 MW.

Lazenay 2 in the Cher department is the third new project. It will start in June 2024 with three Nordex turbines and a total output of 9 MW. The company is thus extending its commitment in the Centre Val de Loireum region to the wind farms already built in Civray, Greneville, Lazenay and Mareuil with a combined capacity of 62.8 MW.

Maël Lagarde, Managing Director of VSB énergies nouvelles: “We are very proud to announce the launch of these three new wind projects, which join the three projects already commissioned this year: Balsac (Aveyron), Roumazières 2 (Charentes) and the Droux wind farm (Haute Vienne). We currently have 64.2 MW under construction and ambitious goals: In five years, we want to have no less than 300 MW under construction and more than 330 MW in operation.”

“Every megawatt we realise brings us one step closer to a greener and cleaner future. At VSB, our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future,” said Dr Felix Grolman, CEO of VSB Group.

VSB énergies nouvelles covers the entire value chain - from planning to financing and construction to energy generation. The focus is on safety, adherence to schedules, cost control and quality, resulting in efficient and environmentally friendly projects.
