Micrositing

Informed assessment based on wind farm studies and forecasts
We assess the wind potential of your site, whether in Germany or internationally. This includes wind measurements at hub height, long-term evaluations and the technical preparation of the data collected. We provide this data to selected accredited experts working in accordance with TR6 requirements. Robust wind data and yield forecasts provide an important basis for assessing project economics and for financing discussions.
Micrositing as a basis for site planning
Several factors come together in the technical and economic assessment of a wind farm, including the wind assessment, the selection of wind turbines, and noise and shadow flicker forecasts. As part of the micrositing process, we align turbine positions and technical parameters with the available land, local wind conditions and other site-specific requirements.
An independent energy yield assessment provides important input data for the economic evaluation of a wind energy project. Our specialist teams contribute experience from different stages of project development.
Micrositing in practice
…in Thuringia
At a planned site in Thuringia, wind measurements indicated that the wind potential was not sufficient for the proposed project. The results were incorporated into the site’s further economic assessment and provided a sound basis for deciding whether to continue with the project.
…in Saxony-Anhalt
Wind measurements from nearby turbines with a hub height of 85 metres did not provide suitable TR6-compliant input data for assessing the planned wind farm. An additional site-specific wind measurement improved the data basis for the further assessment of the project. This enabled:
a more precise assessment of uncertainties and potential deductions
an updated forecast of the expected energy yield
a more robust data basis for financing discussions
a more informed economic assessment of the project
