Long before wind energy became common, wind farm Zellsteig was brought on line. Since July 1998 the 2 wind turbines in Saxonian district Meißen produce green energy. Thereby around 2,000 tons of lignite can be substituted per year. Besides about 750 households are supplied with renewable energy.
