VSB Service GmbH, a leading technical operations manager for wind and photovoltaic systems with its own control centre, proudly announces its successful certification under the internationally recognised DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard and its passing of the KRITIS audit in accordance with § 8a of the Federal Office for Information Security Act (BSIG).

Since January 2022, due to threshold adjustments in the Second Ordinance to amend the BSI-Kritis Ordinance, VSB Service, part of the VSB Group, has been subject to legislation for critical infrastructures. This mandates the implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) according to DIN EN ISO 27001, with a particular focus on the control centre, which is considered critical infrastructure.

In late June 2024, TÜV Rheinland confirmed the successful certification of the ISMS under ISO 27001:2022. In addition, the operations manager passed the KRITIS audit in accordance with § 8a BSIG, highlighting its adherence to the highest security standards.

As an operator of critical infrastructure, VSB Service plays a key role in the stability and reliability of Germany’s energy supply. Through the implementation of robust security measures, the company enhances its resilience to potential threats and ensures the availability of renewable energy.

Dr. Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group, emphasises the significance of this development: "The successful certification and KRITIS audit underline our commitment to the highest security standards and supply reliability. At a time when the energy transition is crucial, these measures send a clear signal of stability and trust in the renewable energy sector. Our goal is not only to develop innovative solutions but also to ensure their secure and reliable implementation."

"By meeting the ISMS requirements and passing the KRITIS audit, we have established a solid foundation for the upcoming European NIS2 Directive," says Andreas Kiss, Managing Director of VSB Service. "This directive will further highlight the importance of proper information and cybersecurity management in companies."

VSB Service is among the first companies in the technical operations management sector to meet these high security standards. As part of the certification process, the company introduced an attack detection system and enhanced physical security measures. The successful certification and KRITIS audit demonstrate VSB Service GmbH’s commitment to the highest levels of information security. The company is setting new benchmarks in the industry, showcasing its leading role in ensuring the highest standards of information security.
