VSB at the KOMMUNALE 2023: Focus on renewable energies for municipalities

As a specialist for the development of wind energy and photovoltaic projects, the VSB Group will be presenting itself at Germany's largest trade fair for municipal needs from 18 to 19 October. In Nuremberg, the project developer will present solutions for the conversion of the local energy supply to renewable energies.

Municipalities and cities, as well as industry and businesses, are pursuing ambitious climate and energy goals. Despite the high potential for renewable energies from wind and sun, Bavaria is clearly lagging in a national comparison. Innovative ideas and feasible solutions are needed to successfully shape the energy transition. Now is the time to designate areas in the regional plans and to initiate concrete steps with all stakeholders – from municipalities to public utilities to citizens.

With over 25 years of experience in planning and implementing wind and photovoltaic projects, VSB advises municipal decision-makers with practical references. Interested parties can talk to the Bavarian development team from Regensburg in hall 8 at booth 8-724.

"We show with holistic concepts how municipalities can switch to renewable energies. We also examine what opportunities wind and PV projects offer for cooperatives and citizens and how technologies can be bundled locally," says Daniel Ziehr, Head of Project Development and Regional Office Bavaria at VSB Neue Energien Deutschland GmbH. "The development of a wind farm can be challenging given the scarcity of land and the extensive approval procedures. We have this stamina and experience," assures Ziehr. The wind expert from Regensburg also points out: "To advance the energy turnaround harmonizing with the environment and nature, we also focus on 'wind energy in the forest' because Bavaria has a forest stock of almost 40 percent".

VSB has a long-standing and intensive cooperation with municipalities, cooperatives, public utilities and other partners. Together with them, the company has already realised more than 1.3 GW of renewable energies in Germany and Europe. This corresponds to more than 700 wind and photovoltaic plants, which currently supply beyond one million people with environmentally friendly electricity.
