VSB at KOMMUNALE 2025: A Reliable Partner for the Municipal Energy Transition

VSB Germany, an experienced developer of renewable energy projects, will be exhibiting at KOMMUNALE in Nuremberg on 22 and 23 October 2025. At Germany’s largest trade fair for public administration, the company will showcase how municipalities can benefit from renewable energy – in partnership, on an equal footing and with a strong focus on regional value creation.
From initial concept to operation
Municipalities are key players in the energy transition: they plan projects, designate land and involve citizens. VSB supports them throughout the entire process – from the initial concept and permitting through to commissioning. “We demonstrate how municipalities can benefit economically from wind and solar projects while achieving their climate targets,” says Daniel Ziehr, Head of the Bavarian Regional Office at VSB Germany.
Nearly 30 years of experience
What began almost three decades ago as a small engineering firm is now a company operating across Europe. In Germany, more than 800 megawatts of wind, solar PV and battery storage projects are currently in the permitting process. VSB supports cities, municipalities and public utility companies in expanding renewable energy – with competence, experience and a solution-driven approach. The company places great importance on regional value creation and long-term partnerships with municipal stakeholders.
Focus topic: Wind energy in forests
A particular focus of Daniel Ziehr’s team is wind energy in forests. “These projects are not in conflict with forest conservation. When carefully planned, they make an important contribution to the climate resilience and long-term viability of our forests,” Ziehr emphasises.
Lease income from wind energy projects also provides a reliable financial basis for climate-resilient forest transformation – for example through reforestation, forest management and the development of resilient mixed woodlands, particularly on damaged areas. In this way, wind energy in forests combines environmental responsibility with economic benefits for both municipalities and forest owners.
Direct dialogue at KOMMUNALE
At KOMMUNALE in Nuremberg (Hall 10, Stand 10-322), VSB experts will be available for discussions on repowering, hybrid parks, wind energy, photovoltaics and storage solutions. “KOMMUNALE is the ideal platform for dialogue between municipalities and industry. Together, we are shaping the energy transition at local level – pragmatic, collaborative and future-oriented,” Ziehr concludes.
