WSB celebrates scheduled commissioning of the Ruhlkirchen Energy Park in the German state of Hesse. The 9.6 mw wind park opens in the Vogelsberg area.

Dresden/Ruhlkirchen, 05 November 2013 – The Dresden based WSB Group today celebrated the commissioning of the first wind energy project in the German state of Hesse. The new park is located in Ruhlkirchen, approximately 100 kilometres north of Frankfurt. An opening speech was given by Johannes Averdung, mayor of Antrifttal and Joachim Wierlemann, head of the Hesse branch of the German Wind Energy Association BWE.

The successful completion of construction work at the Ruhlkirchen Energy Park was celebrated with the traditional millers greeting "Glück zu" (a good luck greeting). Markus Brogsitter, Managing Director of WSB Projekt GmbH said: "We thank all of our partners for the work completed so far. Our thanks also go to the community Antrifttal and to Johannes Averdung for the dedicated project support.” The four 198 meter high wind turbines will supply sufficient renewable energy to power 6,600 three-person households per year.

Project History
Work on the wind park and the four turbines commenced in spring 2013 with the construction of access roads and crane parking areas. In mid-August the 7.3 km long cable route to the Alsfeld substation was completed. At the same time the turbine manufacturer delivered all major components and the 58 metre long rotor blades. As scheduled the wind turbines have been feeding electricity into the grid since mid-October. Deconstruction of the transport path is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
