EEG award and successful preliminary studies
/ 16.10.2025
The Löberitz hybrid park continues to make progress: successful bids in the EEG tenders have been secured for both the ground-mounted photovoltaic installation and the wind farm. This marks another important step towards the implementation of the project. Preliminary investigations have also been carried out on the site as part of the construction preparations.
In recent weeks, the hybrid park site has also been comprehensively examined as part of the construction preparations. The aim was to check at an early stage for the presence of the strictly protected European hamster and to identify potential archaeological finds.
European Hamster Survey
In August, a European hamster survey was carried out on the site. This serves the purpose of species protection and records possible occurrences of the European hamster, which is strictly protected in Germany. The area was systematically inspected to identify typical signs such as burrow entrances, feeding sites or runways. All observations were documented using GPS and subsequently evaluated. The result: no evidence of European hamster activity was found. This means that there are no species protection restrictions affecting the further progress of the Löberitz hybrid park project.
Archaeological Investigation
The archaeological investigation carried out in recent weeks was also successful. Using a so-called magnetometer survey, the subsoil was examined to determine whether there were traces of earlier human activity. Sensitive instruments measure even the smallest magnetic changes in the soil that may indicate filled ditches, foundations or fireplaces. The method is completely non-destructive and is digitally documented. The evaluation showed no notable findings. To confirm the results, selected areas were also investigated at greater depth. The final report of the investigations is expected in the coming weeks.
Next Steps
With the successful completion of the investigations and the EEG award, the path is now clear for the next project steps. Construction of the access roads is scheduled to begin in November.
