Construction of access roads and work on the substation begin

 / 28.10.2025

As part of the preparatory construction measures, work on the access roads has begun on the site in Löberitz. In November, construction work on the substation will also begin.

Access Road Construction
In the coming days, work on the access roads will begin as part of the preparatory construction measures. New roads will be built and existing ones upgraded – creating safe access to all construction and installation areas.

The roads are necessary so that construction materials, large components, cranes and special transport vehicles can reach the turbine locations safely and efficiently. First, the topsoil will be removed to create a stable base. Afterwards, gravel will be laid to provide a durable and stable surface.

Once construction and installation work has been completed, the temporarily used areas will be dismantled and restored so that they can again be used for agriculture by the Löberitz agricultural cooperative.

Work on the Substation
In November, work will also begin on the Salzfurtkapelle substation. This will later form the central interface of the hybrid park: here, the electricity generated from wind and photovoltaics will be transformed to a higher voltage level (110 kV), allowing it to be fed into the public grid of MITNETZ STROM and transported over long distances.

Delivery of the substation is planned for early 2026. The individual components will be delivered step by step and assembled directly on site. The large transformers in particular require careful logistics: they will be transported to Salzfurtkapelle as heavy-load shipments on low-loaders. As these transports sometimes weigh more than 60 tonnes and the vehicles can be up to 23 metres long, special permits and safety measures are required.

On some days, this may lead to temporary night-time road closures. These measures are intended to ensure the safe execution of the transports and to keep disruption for local residents to a minimum.
