To complement our team in Dresden, we are looking for a:

Global Head of Accounting & Consolidation (m/f/d)


  • Professional and disciplinary management of the Group Accounting department including supervision of all team members across our international group
  • Implementation of the guidelines and goals of the management for the department such as the introduction of the "Centre of Excellence" concept among others
  • Responsibility for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to the German Commercial Code (HGB) for our German subsidiaries, IPP company and the VSB Group as a whole
  • Consolidation responsibility for the group including all subsidiaries as well as a large number of SPVs
  • Provision of guidelines and support as well as supervision of the financial accounting of our foreign subsidiaries in questions of accounting / financial reporting and compliance with (legal) requirements
  • Ensuring of proper balancing of accounts, including payment transactions, accounts receivable and creditor management as well as fixed asset accounting
  • Serving as the first point of contact for our auditing and tax consultants as well as other external third parties
  • Involvement in the selection of auditors for our German subsidiaries and the group as well as participation in the corresponding selection for our foreign subsidiaries with a right of veto
  • Responsibility for the regular review and if necessary, expansion of the accounting guidelines and structures as well as regular process monitoring and optimisation within the department
  • Planning and securing of resources as well as planning, monitoring, and adhering to the departmental budget


  • Academical degree preferably in the field of economics or related field of study
  • At least ten years of professional experience in a similar field of activity, including consolidation experience with a large number of entities
  • Verifiable management qualification with at least five years of management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and HGB for groups with a complex corporate landscape
  • Solid MS Office skills are required, existing SAP experience is an advantage
  • Profound process understanding paired with a strong capability to optimize existing and create new sensible structures and processes
  • Fluent command of written and spoken English; knowledge of French is beneficial
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills as well as assertiveness combined with good conflict and problem-solving skills
  • Conceptual, analytical, and solution-oriented way of thinking
  • Willingness for business travelling
