Wind turbines and agriculture go hand in hand

Lazenay, a French wind farm in the Départment Cher

Seven wind turbines operate at the Lazenay wind farm in the Cher Département while the surrounding fields are still used for farming, bringing additional profits for the owner of the land. The wind turbines on the 48,209 m² site provide environmentally friendly electricity for around 20,000 households. The VSB subsidiary built this 16.8 MW wind farm in only nine months. The fragile rotor blades, over 58 meters long, posed special logistical challenges for the team. Perfect precision work in narrow streets, managed down to the last millimetre was the last stage of this high quality installation.
