Significant Progress, Great Opportunities
/ 16.12.2024
The first major components have arrived at the construction site. At the same time, we are offering a unique opportunity for residents of the districts of Anhalt-Bitterfeld and Wittenberg, as well as Dessau-Roßlau, to directly benefit from this project.
Progress at the Elster Repowering Wind Farm is moving ahead: The first 77.5-metre-long rotor blades are currently being delivered to the site. These key components are manufactured by Siemens Gamesa in Portugal. Originally, the plan was to transport the rotor blades by ship to Rostock; however, transport permits could not be obtained. Instead, the heavy load transport now begins at the Dutch port of Moerdijk, travelling along motorways through Nuremberg and Dresden Gate, exiting at Ruhland on the A13. From there, the journey continues on smaller roads to Jessen, where the components are safely delivered to the construction site via the L37.
At 2 a.m. on 10 December, the first rotor blade completed its journey of over 1,000 kilometres across motorways and country roads to reach the Elster Wind Farm – with more to follow in the coming weeks. Transporting the large components – including rotor blades, steel tower sections, and nacelles – takes place during the night, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., to minimise disruption to traffic. We kindly ask for your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. These transports are scheduled to be completed by the end of February 2025. Meanwhile, the construction of the wind turbines is progressing steadily. To ensure a strong start to the new year, the large crane will be erected before Christmas, allowing the assembly of the turbines to begin immediately in January. Commissioning of the turbines is planned from February 2025 onwards.
Get Involved and Benefit: Community Investment in the Elster Repowering Wind Farm
It’s not just progress on the construction site that brings good news: We are excited to announce a community investment opportunity. Residents of the districts of Anhalt-Bitterfeld and Wittenberg, as well as Dessau-Roßlau, can now invest in the Elster Repowering Wind Farm and benefit from an attractive annual return of 5%. The funds raised will be specifically used to support the operation of the Elster Repowering Wind Farm. Our goal is to ensure that you, the residents of the region, directly share in the benefits of this project.
