Soleil de Chaillac operates the town's old Barytine mine
Located on the former Barytine mine, the power station now uses inactive, non-agricultural and non-constructible land. The site is reinventing itself to become a positive energy zone.
Nature has regained its rights on this inactive site. During construction, the "VSB energies nouvelles" teams discovered a variety of orchids protected at European level. Preserving this species was a priority for the company. After geological studies, the teams replanted the flower on a preserved area, favourable to its development.
