Cavillargues photovoltaic park in Occitanie, southern France

The 4.2 megawatt Cavillargues PV plant is located on a 7.1-hectare site in the Gard Département. The open-air installation with fabulous irradiation levels of around 1,576 kWh per square meter per year was commissioned in April 2016 after a construction period of four months.

Cost optimizations in the planning and construction process enable a feed-in tariff of only € 0.0717 euros per kWh. This is possible because the French VSB subsidiary – one of the top ten project developers in France – can look back on over 15 years of experience. To date it has installed around 240 MW of generation capacity in the wind and solar energy sector. The project team was thus able to streamline workflows, cut costs and maximize operational economies for the plant.
