With 20 years of experience and 18 employees, our operational management team maximises the energy-based availability of your wind farm, ensuring reliable yields.

We currently manage, both technically and commercially, a portfolio with a total output of 1.3 GW – from institutional investors and investment companies but also from civil society energy projects, municipal utilities and energy suppliers.

A crucial factor for the economic success of your wind farm is perfect coordination right from the start: from foresighted operational management and regular maintenance and inspections, to round-the-clock remote monitoring. In this way, downtime is kept to a minimum. On your behalf, we will also keep an eye on the deadlines for all necessary inspections, e.g. recurring audits, DGUV V3 inspections and pressure vessel testing. You can rest assured that with us as your operator you will not miss any key dates.

BASE, PLUS or additional modules: The right concept for everyone

Extreme mechanical loads combined with long operating times place high demands on the operational management of wind farms. And yet every wind farm is an individual technical system. Our services in detail

  • Initial set-up and SCADA data service

    We will set up your wind farm communication (SCADA, WIS, energy meters), create the master data for maintenance planning, and start the maintenance history record. The SCADA data service includes the 24/7 online connection of wind turbines to our control centre and automated data retrieval.

     

  • Customer access: WIS and WIS2Go app

    We create a customer access to our monitoring software (WIS). The WIS2Go app gives you access to your system from your mobile device.

  • Supervision and monitoring

    If our 24/7 automated remote monitoring or the control centre detects a fault in a wind turbine, the fault is analysed and appropriate measures are planned to remedy the fault. When remedying such faults, the paramount aim is always to keep wind turbine downtime to a minimum.

  • Reporting and communication

    We prepare a comprehensive monthly report containing information on energy yield, availability, faults and other events, work carried out and scheduled maintenance, as well as recommendations going forward.

  • Documentation and maintenance history records

    We keep a maintenance history record for each wind turbine, which stores the most important and relevant data. Upon request, the operator may inspect and receive copies of this record at any time.

  • Responsibility for turbines

    On request, we can assume responsibility for your turbines in accordance with the FGW technical guideline TR7, category A1 in conjunction with DIN VDE 0105-100:2015.

  • Energy billing

    We compare monthly yields with the billing data of the respective network operator and/or network infrastructure provider, checking these for plausibility.

  • Network security management

    We record feed-in management and redispatching curtailments performed by the network operator. Using the information provided by the network operator, we check whether the measures recorded are complete. We calculate compensation amounts and monitor compensation payments.

     

  • Direct marketing support

    We will be pleased to support and advise you on concluding, fully implementing and, if necessary, readvertising your direct marketing contract.

  • Organisation of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

    We check whether the maintenance intervals for the wind turbine – as agreed between the customer and the commissioned service company or wind turbine manufacturer – are adhered to and that the maintenance is carried out properly. In addition, we monitor compliance with the intervals for all further inspections by experts or appraisers. We carefully examine any available maintenance protocols, inspection reports and expert opinions for the wind turbine, deriving maintenance recommendations from them. Beyond the warranty period or the term of full maintenance contracts, we will either obtain offers from third parties for remedying faults or VSB will offer to perform the repair work itself.

     

    Wind turbine maintenance

  • On-site inspections

    We regularly carry out systematic on-site inspections of the wind turbine according to a checklist (with or without ascent).

     

  • Landscaping, winter road clearance, on-site attendant

    We commission service providers with the necessary landscaping and snow clearance duties around your wind turbines. If required, we can also organise the provision of an on-site attendant (e.g. to carry out ice resets or supervise visitors to your wind farm).

     

  • Support with warranty claims

    If desired, we will also support you in asserting warranty and guarantee claims against suppliers.

  • Monitoring compensation and substitution measures

    We organise the control, documentation and inspection of the compensation and substitution measures for your wind farm in accordance with the provisions of your approval under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG).

  • Auditing

    We check all invoices issued to customers in connection with the technical operation of the wind turbine for factual correctness with regard to services rendered, eligibility for claims (warranty cases), costs and plausibility.

  • Public registers

    We support you with necessary ongoing reports to the Market Master Data Register, REMIT reports and other reporting obligations.

  • Insurance handling

    We handle wind turbine damage claims on your behalf.

  • Yield certificates

    We organise the calculation of the extended period of the initial tariff or proof of the site quality for the wind turbine in accordance with the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). 

On-demand night-time marking: Ask the experts

We will support you in the implementation of your night-time marking solution. When reviewing your individual situation, we will consider in detail the local factors and requirements: from technical inspection, e.g. of existing interfaces, to the clarification of permit requirements, we will take a close look at all points. We then research relevant providers for your site and move into the technical planning stage. On your behalf, we evaluate offers in terms of investment and operating costs, scope of services, and risk. This includes assessing the possibility of exemption from the retrofitting obligation on grounds of economic unreasonableness. We provide answers to questions like: Does my wind farm meet the technical requirements? Can or must we include neighbouring wind farms for an active or passive radar system? Do necessary adjustments to the BImSchG permit have to be taken into account during implementation?

In addition to options and recommendations for action, we also prepare the exact time schedule of the project, including the approval process. Would you like us to manage and implement the project for you completely? From the financial plan to installation, we are happy to assume responsibility for your wind farm’s on-demand night-time marking.

  • Background: What is on-demand night-time marking (BNK) and what options are there?

    To prevent air traffic accidents, wind turbines need to be illuminated or equipped with warning lights in the dark. Within the framework of the Energy Collection Act (EnSaG) of December 2018, mandatory on-demand night-time marking (known in German as BNK) was adopted as a measure to reduce the burden on the environment. BNK is mandatory for new wind turbines as well as for all existing turbines (over 100 m total height) from 1 July 2021. With BNK, the flashing obstacle lights are only activated when flying objects are actually in the vicinity of the wind turbine. From a technological perspective, there are three options for controlling these turbine beacons. The systems approved by DFS, the company responsible for air traffic control in Germany, rely on primary radar technology. They can be divided into passive and active radar. Passive radar uses existing radio waves to monitor the airspace. Active radar-based systems send out their own signals and respond to the signals of an aircraft approaching the wind farm. The third option is transponder technology. Here, wind turbines are equipped with a receiver that receives the transponder signal from the aircraft and then activates the night-time beacon.
